Silhouettes & Sunsets

Light dances on the water and exchanges hues of blue for orange and gold. The sky whispers goodnight as she kisses the sunshine goodbye. Outlines and shadows scrape the skyline. A silhouette highlights the last traces of light. It is like a memory that remembers only the outline of an experience but fills in the blank spaces. The sun keeps setting and the memories keep fading but there are silhouettes that remind us that life is surrounded by light and color. There is  zest and value in the skyline of your life.

And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High;
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,
in the forgiveness of their sins,
to give knowledge of salvation to his people because of the tender mercy of our God,
to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
(Luke 1:76-79)
