light in our eyes
Living hallelujahs
God gave us a remnant: a hallelujah of sorts for we are not abandoned. He saved a single nail, remains from his tabernacle tent, from his house in heaven and gave it to us as sacrifice: the body of Christ held on the cross: wood and nails used for death. God took those at nails too and made them new. But we are not abandoned. A grave empty, a fertile void. Death to resurrection. And others see it, they know the light that’s in our eyes. Mixed in with blue and tears, black circles beneath yet lit up with light! The light that was brought from heaven to make earth in Genesis 1 now lives in us: constantly creating and reacting with shadows. Bound to the body, they say eyes are the windows to the soul. And so, what souls are they peering into? Blinded by a gaze, a smile from a stranger full of the spirit. Perhaps it’s the perspective as well: light in our eyes to filter through the darkness from outside. He gives us light in out eyes so we don’t become blind to goodness and truth. We translate the shadows and expose them for what they are when our eyes are full of light. And writing these words feels like playing the piano, a symphony of sorts and prayer into the promise. I know there something so deep, for someday I shall stand face to face. And the Eyes of my Father will cause me to bow and cast my crown. A radiant scene with the river of life flowing from his throne. Today sitting on earth, a mere footstool of God, I whisper a humble prayer “Lord give me light in my eyes”. Even an ounce of this light could last me a lifetime, drunk on the spirit of God after one sip.
*here's some people who's light shines bright
let your light shine.
Ezra 9
8-9 “Now for a brief time God, our God, has allowed us, this battered band, to get a firm foothold in his holy place so that our God may brighten our eyes and lighten our burdens as we serve out this hard sentence. We were slaves; yet even as slaves, our God didn’t abandon us.
