Road trip of Rainbows.
Look around you.
There are hues, shades and shadows that prove the existence of light. There are miracles of biological processes and chemical reactions that causes breath to be breathed and taste buds to taste. Our skin gets goosebumps and our hair gets lighter with the summer. Seeds are planted and bud into edible nutrients. The complexities of language intertwine with culture allowing for music, art and literature to be formed. Take a closer look. Everything you see is made of the same stuff... dust particles orchestrated into a symphony of life. Water and light coordinate the colors. Nature is pretty simple. The rawness we seek found in rocks, water and sky are the same things we are made of.An adventurous road trip from Santa Barbara to Fort Collins, Colorado with my dear friend Claire gave me a new lens to appreciate the binary of God's simplicity and incomprehensible glory. The rawness of creation reminds me that we are made of the same stuff. We are made to be and exist in creation. We stopped in Zion National Park and Arches in Utah. The red rocks carved over thousands of years reached to the blue sky with thunderstorm clouds. We were welcomed to both places with 2 rainbows arching in the sky. 20 hours of driving through forests, deserts and mountains gave us perspective of the vastness of this earth. When God created the heavens and the earth in Genesis, like any artist I don't think he finished creating it. Weather and time are his tools, He is still refining. God isn't done with me either: he formed me in my mother's womb but with the weather of life and His timing I am getting closer to His glory. The water and light of life saturate our spirits with color. Many rainbows are waiting for those willing to allow the weather and storms to create beauty.
